DESCRIPTION:
This bird is identifiable as a Dark-eyed Junco, specifically the Slate-colored form. Key features include its distinctive dark gray head, back, and wings, which contrast sharply with a clean white belly. The bird has a relatively small, conical bill suitable for eating seeds, and its overall posture on the feeder is typical of this species. Dark-eyed Juncos are very common winter visitors to feeders across much of North America.
