DESCRIPTION:
The bird on the left is a small, stocky songbird, characterized by its streaky reddish-brown back and wings with darker centers, and pale grayish-white underparts. What is visible of its head and upper nape shows distinct reddish-brown (chestnut) plumage. This coloration, especially the prominent chestnut on the upper back/nape area coupled with the streaky back, strongly suggests a male House Sparrow. The bird is actively foraging for seeds in a bird feeder.
